How to run memcached server on windows

To run memcached, just double-click on the memcached.exe file obtained in the install step. This will start memcached server on default port 11211.

To run it as a daemon (without console window), open command prompt, cd to the folder containing memcahed.exe file and then run the command memcached -d start

How ever, the most convenient way to run memcached is as a windows service. To install memcached as a service, open command prompt, cd to the folder containing memcahed.exe file and then run the command memcached -d install.
